A traditional, award-winning Thwaites pub in a village below Oxenber Hill, capped with a magnificent limestone pavement. In the bar, winter log fires; outside a large garden with children's play area. Wherever possible, Eric Coupey, who runs the pub with his wife Maree, chooses local firms to supply fresh produce for his imaginative menus of English, French and Mediterranean dishes. The Gallic influence continues with Breton night on Tuesdays and French on Wednesdays; locally sourced steaks are Thursdays, and on Fridays you can take away fish, chips and mushy peas.

Excellent food in the friendly bar; there is also a restaurant - booking advised. An interesting menu which was good value for money. Efficient helpful staff. The village is attractive and we were able to park with no problem.
