Conditional Offer Notices
Conditional offer notices are similar to fixed penalty notices in that they give the option of accepting a fixed penalty rather than the matter being brought before a court.
However:
- the time limit for producing your driving licence is 28 days
- if the conditions specified on the notice are not complied with in the time limit, the fixed penalty will not be registered as a fine, but a summons (in Scotland, a citation) can then be issued
- the procedure for dealing with a conditional offer notice in England and Wales is different from the procedure in Scotland. In all cases, you are advised to read and be sure you understand what the notice is saying.
- If in doubt seek legal advice
