The room was small and shabby, and hadn't been cleaned properly. The so called turndown sevice failed to take away dirty cups or replenish tea, coffe etc. Hardly what I call 4 star. At breakfast, the service was very slow, but my daughter waited an hour and a half for a vegetarian breakfast and then they came with a full yorkshire Someone said it was 1 of the best hotels in York, I hate to think what those rated worse than this are like.
