Located on the shores of Lough Meelagh, this restored Gothic revival castle dates from the early 19th century. It is set in almost 50 acres of rolling park and woodland. Great care has been taken in its restoration, with many of the fine bedrooms and suites housed in the adjoining, sympathetically-built modern block. The Drawing Room is now a cosy lounge serving food throughout the day. The highlight is dinner in the Douglas Hyde Restaurant, where the friendly professional team go to great lengths to offer fine food in elegant surroundings. The impressive spa has a wide range of treatments on offer. There is also a leisure centre together with a wonderful events centre accessed by a tunnel from the main building.
