Brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin received nationwide recognition last night when they were named AA Chefs’ Chef of the Year, at the AA Hospitality Awards 2011–2012.

Chris and Jeff, who received their award in front of an audience of over 700 members of the hospitality industry, commented, "We are thrilled to be the Chefs' Chef. Winning this award means everything to us, firstly as it is voted for by our peers and secondly seeing the list of previous winners makes it easy to see how special it really is. AA Lifetime Achievement Award

The award recognises professionals within the hospitality industry who have committed their lives to the pursuit of perfection within their discipline. Winners of this award are to be congratulated for making significant fundamental contributions to the industry which have had a notable impact, and must have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to progress in their field.

Peter Lederer CBE

Lifetime Achievement Award
With a career spanning over 40 years, Peter has and continues to make a significant contribution to the industry through his various roles and commitments. In 1984 he joined Gleneagles as general manager, three years later was appointed managing director and became chairman in 2007. In those 27 years he has been instrumental in developing Gleneagles into a world class resort hotel.

This luxury family fun country house hotel is situated in the English Lake District and prides itself on its hospitality and service.
