The Syllabus

How the syllabus works

The syllabus you follow when you learn to drive is set out by the Driving Standards Agency. Your instructor will use a driver development card to track your progress as you master each part of learning to drive. It shows you and your instructor exactly when you are ready for your practical test.

What you'll learn

In your lessons, your instructor will score each section of the syllabus on the development card. You'll score 1 – when a topic is introduced, to 5 – when you can do each task independently.
