Fishbourne Roman Palace

Salthill Road, FISHBOURNE, Chichester, PO19 3QR

Write a review

The remains of the Roman Palace at Fishbourne were discovered in 1960. Here you can see Britain's largest collection of in-situ Roman floor mosaics. More everyday Roman objects found during the excavations are displayed in the museum gallery. A short film uses computer-generated images to interpret the site. Outside the garden has been replanted to its original plan, using plants that may have grown there when the palace was inhabited. The Collections Discovery Centre displays more artefacts from both Fishbourne and Chichester district. See website for daily activities.
