National Museum Cardiff is home to spectacular collections from Wales and all over the world. The Museum showcases displays of art, archaeology, geology and natural history all under one roof. The new archaeology gallery, 'Origins in search of early Wales', traces life in Wales from the earliest humans 230,000 years ago. Explore the past through themes such as conflict, power, wealth, family and the future - are we really so different today? Discover stories behind some of Wales' most famous works of art in the new art galleries, which now include activity stations and touch screens to help bring the paintings to life. You can also enjoy changing displays drawn from the collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including work by Monet, Renoir and Cézanne. Or how about a close encounter with The Big Bang, erupting volcanoes, dinosaurs and woolly mammoths on the journey through time and space?
