Maritime Museum & Occupation Tapestry Gallery

New North Quay, ST HELIER, Jersey, JE2 3ND

Write a review

This converted 19th-century warehouse houses the tapestry consisting of 12 two-metre panels that tells the story of the occupation of Jersey during World War II. Each of the 12 parishes took responsibility for stitching a panel, making it the largest community arts project ever undertaken on the island. The Maritime Museum celebrates the relationship of islanders and the sea, including an award-winning hands-on experience, especially enjoyed by children.
