A fairly modest red-brick building, built in the Dutch style with gables, Kew Palace was built in 1631 and used until 1818 when Queen Charlotte died. Visitors can see artefacts that belonged to George III and his family, and gain access to the second floor, which has never before been open to the public. There are also rooms on the second floor, faithfully recreated with décor and furnishings as George III and his family would have known them in the early 1800s.
