Caerhays Castle Gardens

For centuries this magnolia-filled garden was a deer park, and it was not until the late 19th century that John Charles Williams ("JCW") inherited Caerhays, and not until the early 20th that new and exotic plants were introduced here. Now the gardens are a blaze of plants from Chile, China, New Zealand, the Himalayas, and many other distant lands. Magnolias, rhododendrons, camellia, and japonicas can all be seen on marked walks, and the house can be visited in small groups during the spring.
