Low Wray National Trust Campsite
Low Wray,
AMBLESIDE,
LA22 0JA
Picturesquely set on the wooded shores of Lake Windermere, this site is a favourite with tenters and watersports enthusiasts. The toilets facilities are housed in wooden cabins and these were smartly refurbished in 2011, and tents can be pitched in wooded glades with lake views or open grassland, here there are wooden camping pods, and a mini-reservation of tipis and solar-heated bell tents. There's a new shop and reception and a superb decked walkway through wetland teeming with wildlife. Off-road biking, walks and pubs serving food are all nearby.
