Low Wray National Trust Campsite

The AA3 pennant AA Merit: 80%
Price guide: £

Picturesquely set on the wooded shores of Lake Windermere, this site is a favourite with tenters and watersport enthusiasts. The toilet facilities are housed in wooden cabins, and tents can be pitched in wooded glades with lake views or open grassland; here there are wooden camping pods and a mini-reservation of tipis and solar-heated bell tents. In partnership with Quest 4 Adventure, many outdoor activities are available for families (bookable during school holidays). Fresh bread is now baked daily on site, and opposite the reception there is a rustic covered area with a pizza oven.
