Standing in the lovely village, this inn and restaurant offers very good bedrooms and pleasing public rooms. Built in 1823 the Blackwell Ox was named after a locally-bred animal that weighed 2278lbs when it was slaughtered in 1779. Chef Steven Holding sources local produce from North Yorkshire, to create simple, honest cooking that has achieved an AA Rosette.
