Defect: There is a possibility that the steering flexible coupling may not have been rivetted correctly. In the worst case detachment could occur.
Action: Recall affected vehicles and check and replace coupling if necessary.

Description: OVERHEATING OF THE BATTERY AREA

Defect: Should a battery vent tube be missing, the cold start relay housing is exposed to corrosion damage and subsequent acid ingress to the relay itself. This can result in short circuiting of the relay and lead to the starter self cranking. Should this occur, high levels of heat will be produced in the area of the battery.
Action: Recall the affected vehicles for the fitment of a protective cover to the cold start relay.

Description: Side airbag wiring issue

Defect: The wiring for the side airbags within the electrical connector for the control module is reversed. In the event of an impact, which triggered the side airbag system, the incorrect side would be deployed.
Action: Subject vehicles to be recalled at which time the wiring fault will be corrected by establishing the terminals to their correct location within the connector.
