Defect: When driving at low speeds a fault within the software calibration of the engine and transmission control modules may lead to a drop in the engine idle speed when braking or releasing the accelerator. In extreme cases, this may result in the engine cutting out without warning.
Action: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to upgrade the engine/transmission software.

Recall Ref: R/2012/104
Exact Model: V60, V70, XC70 and S80
Description: REDUCED BRAKING PERFORMANCE
VIN: 090145 to 101205, 046158 to 088167, 249103 to 255863, 139674 to 145327, 165148 to 126998, 160866 to 164146, 241063 to 247816, 146101 to 150238
Build Date:
Numbers: 3398
Defect: Investigations have identified that the wiper arm mechanism may chafe against the brake booster vacuum line. If this chafing occurs, it could lead to a gradual reduction of the power assisted braking and more effort would need to be applied to the brake pedal than usual to slow the vehicle down. In the worst cases, the reduction of braking assistance could occur suddenly without any prior warning
Action: Inspect the brake booster vacuum line. If it is chafed then it should be replaced and routed correctly when fitted. If the line is not chafed it should re-routed to ensure no issues going forward.
Launch Date: 14 September 2012
