Description: AIR MASS METER GRID MAY DETACH AND JAM THROTTLE OPEN

Defect: In isolated cases misfiring after a cold start can cause the air grid in the air mass meter to become detached. In the worst case, this could jam the throttle valve, causing an increase in engine speed.
Action: Check air mass meter and air grid and install retaining ring in air mass meter.

Description: UNSCHEDULED DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG

Defect: In weather conditions which favour the build up of static electricity, the airbag may deploy spontaneously if the driver enters or leaves the vehicle while carrying a high static charge. Audi say this can only happen when the vehicle is stationary, not while it is in motion.
Action: The remedy involves the installation of an earth cable to the steering wheel to conduct static charge to earth.

Defect: In the event of an accident in which deployment of the front airbags is required, it is possible that the airbags can trigger too late.
Action: Recalled vehicles will have the air bag and ECU software updated.
