Compare with other cars in the Small SUV category

The Santa Fe is a large off road vehicle with high seating positions. The integrity of the passenger compartment was questionable. The results from the frontal test were disappointing with problems for the chest, and upper legs. In comparison the side impact performance was very good without a side airbag. The child restraints gave good protection apart for the 18 month old which had a high neck load in the frontal test. The pedestrian protection was disappointing with only the child’s head impact area giving any relief.
