In a splendid location on the banks of Loch Lomond, Cameron House is a stylish blend of tartans and luxurious contemporary looks. The steaks here are truly exceptional, cooked on a Josper grill from locally reared Ayrshire beef. A 28-day aged rib-eye with onion rings, roasted shallots, plum tomato, blue cheese sauce and triple-cooked chips should satisfy. Otherwise, start with chicken liver and foie gras parfait and pickled veg, then move on to cannon and sweetbreads of lamb with crisped risotto. Finish with Valrhona chocolate ganache with whisky ice cream and raspberries. The hotel is also home to the fine-dining Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond.
