Set on a 1,200-acre farm complete with Shetland sheep and Red Poll cattle, plus a vineyard, The Leaping Hare occupies a splendid 400-year-old barn with a high raftered ceiling. What the farm doesn't provide is locally sourced, with fish landed at Lowestoft. The kitchen follows a straightforward route along classical lines, so expect starters of guinea fowl and ham hock terrine with caper and raisin purée, followed by a hearty dish of vine-smoked pheasant breast with celeriac and red cabbage. Fish might include roast cod with seasonal vegetables and mussel chowder - and things end on an upbeat note with dark chocolate and Cointreau Arctic roll.
