A grand Palladian mansion with sumptuous antique-packed interiors in 36 acres of grounds landscaped by Humphry Repton - including a Victorian walled kitchen garden that provides seasonal organic fruit, veg, herbs and edible flowers - Ston Easton is a delight. The team in the elegant Sorrel Restaurant deliver light and confident modern country house-style cooking, bursting with luxurious ingredients, intense flavours and pin-sharp presentations. How about cauliflower velouté, scallop céviche and caviar to start things off, followed perhaps by a cutlet and loin of lamb with celeriac and apple champ. Save room for dessert - maybe caramelised pear brûlée with lavender shortbread.
