An unpretentious place that opens its arms to all-comers, from oil-rig workers to passing ships' crews, making the bar a convivial haunt for casual dishes along the lines of breaded or battered haddock, home-made, peas, triple cooked chips and tartare sauce. The restaurant has linen tablecloths, quality glasses and a seasonal, globally inspired menu that showcases the island’s produce – lobster ravioli, crab cake, seared scallop with star anise and saffron broth for starters, followed by Masala spiced monkfish and salmon with kachumber salad, mini naan, potato and onion bhaji with coconut and lime chutney. Desserts are no less creative – lemon tart, lemon sherbet, pannacotta, lemonade and biscotti, for example.
