In a quiet village on the outskirts of Oxford, The Mole Inn is everything a country inn should be, adorned with framed mirrors and run by a casual but professional team. A starter of devilled lamb's kidneys with chargrilled ciabatta might be followed by rump of lamb, pea and mint mash, grain mustard cabbage and roast garlic. More globally influenced dishes could include grilled natural smoked haddock, curry creamed leeks, curly kale and coriander mash, and Café de Paris butter. To finish, what could be better than chocolate and orange cheesecake, walnut ice cream and raspberry sip? A small conservatory to one side makes a pleasant summer retreat.
