Moved to a new address in Harrogate in April 2017, this restaurant's kitchen, as its name hints, takes its cue from the neo-Nordic cuisine that’s all the rage these days, and the setting is suitably Scandi-minimalist too. The inventive food takes the form of complex small plates that hinge on meticulous sourcing and precisely defined layers of flavour and texture: carrots come with brown butter, wild garlic, roasted lettuce and arrowgrass, while clay-baked monkfish tail is helped along by kohlrabi cooked over pine, spring cabbage and elderberry caper. The style really shines at dessert, when hazelnut pudding is matched with puffed wild rice, pear granita and caramelised white chocolate.
