A small hotel dating from Georgian times, The Lawns offers a number of dining options: bar, conservatory, restaurant and south-facing garden. It's a warm and friendly place, reflected in a menu of largely comfortingly reassuring dishes pinned on East Anglian produce - local asparagus with hollandaise, for example, or duck liver terrine with quince purée and toasted brioche to get things off the mark, then mains of slow-cooked belly pork with stuffed baked apple and spring onion mash, or perhaps sea bass fillet with coriander crushed new potatoes and tomato salsa. To finish, there's a no-nonsense chocolate and almond torte with vanilla ice cream.
