The Sea Marge is a family-run Edwardian hotel of great charm with terraced lawns sitting just above the coastal path, and glorious marine views from the panelled dining room. First up might be a pairing of seared scallops with crab and langoustine ravioli, garnished with saffron-scented baby veg, in creamy shellfish broth. A main course of beetroot-marinated salmon with potato cake in salsa verde might appeal next, but there could also be smoked chicken breast with a little chicken cottage pie and a ball of cabbage and bacon in a sauce of café au lait. Chocolate and ginger terrine with salted caramel ice cream makes a good finish.
