Hospitality is top of the agenda at this charming country house hotel, with hands-on owners and plenty of staff ensuring that guests are well looked after. There's a small bar, a cosy lounge with sofas to sink into and a traditional restaurant. The kitchen sources most ingredients from within 10 miles of the hotel and sends out contemporary British ideas, opening with Cromer crab and herb tart with thermidor ice cream and a Walsingham cheese tuile, followed by cannon of lamb partnered by parsnip purée and crisps, dauphinoise potatoes, roast garlic and rosemary jus. Finish with chocolate delice with orange cream and amaretti biscuit.
