Prime Brit produce in a contemporary steakhouse

The 'Six' in question is the sixth floor of the upmarket, golf-centric Celtic Manor Resort, where this stylish, contemporary steakhouse looks out over Coldra Woods. When the culinary proposition is this straightforward, the quality of the raw materials is key, and the pedigree meat here proudly flies the flag for prime British protein. That's not to say that things lack subtlety, as in a starter of cauliflower textures - mousse, soused and charred - with pan-fried scallop and crunchy granola. Next up, an expertly-executed English rib-eye comes with a beef cheek croquette, béarnaise sauce, watercress and potato gratin, before a zingy key lime pie wraps things up in style.
