There are views over the Ryder Cup course from Rafters, a classy grill restaurant on the Celtic Manor Resort. It's within the Twenty Ten Clubhouse (2010 being when the cup came to town), and with its high cedar-beamed ceiling, smart, modern look and those views, there's much to like. Welsh ingredients take centre stage and, this being a grill restaurant, there are locally reared, 21-day-aged steaks as the star attraction - who could resist steak Diane flambéed at the table with shallots, Dijon mustard, brandy and double cream? Kick off with chicken liver parfait with toasted brioche, hazelnuts and tomato chutney, and finish with Indian rice pudding with mango sorbet.
