This stalwart of the Soho dining scene has been plying its trade since 1989. Warm colours and subtle lighting add to the authentic Mediterranean ambience. The handwritten menu changes after each serving, so you can take seasonality for granted. Rustic, home-style cooking delivers clear flavours in a starter of spaghettini with calamari, garlic and black ink sauce, followed by a fillet of sea bass served with a herb dressing, steamed vegetables and new potatoes. Among meatier fare, there might be roast shoulder of pork with cannellini beans and crispy kale, or calves' liver and onions with sautéed cabbage, and to finish, there's a textbook tiramisù.
