The Light House is a beacon of fresh seasonal cooking just a short stroll from Wimbledon Common. Appealing menus of fresh, modern-bistro style dishes are on offer, with plenty of sunny, Mediterranean flavours cooked up in the open kitchen. Chicken liver and tarragon pâté with apricot chutney and toast gets things off to a flying start, or there could be harissa mackerel with aubergine and tahini dip and piquillo peppers. Next out, steamed hake with Jersey Royals, peas, spinach and champagne butter sauce is a delightful light, fresh and seasonal summery dish. And who could fail to be won over by puddings like vanilla yogurt pannacotta with cherry compôte.
