London purrs with Jason Atherton's inventive 'Socials', but his classy, convivial Marylebone tapas joint affords food and wine equal billing as its name implies. Factor in a wine shop, dynamic wine list and tasting room and you feel the love. Food doesn't play second fiddle though, with the kitchen turning out high-gloss tapas in the simplicity, precision, flavour and flair genre. Take hen's egg with chorizo jam, brioche and avocado, or perhaps sea bass with tomato dashi, crushed potatoes and seaweed. The space is equally on-trend; compact, moodily lit and set over two floors – the ground floor with its big-draw open kitchen dining counter, and downstairs its cellar bar.
