Seasonal modern brasserie food in a stylish setting

Built as a coaching inn in the 15th century, The Swan underwent a stylish refurbishment in January 2015. Brasserie-style menus build on Kentish farm produce with influences from far and wide. Spiced chickpea fritters with spring onion and feta in tamarind dressing might be one way to start, the razor-sharp seasonings of sea bass céviche in fennel, orange and coriander an equally tempting one. Mains could be a roast rack of lamb for two, accompanied by mini shepherd's pies, while the grill produces steaks, or spatchcocked chicken with a salad of sweetcorn and cashews. An Anglo-Welsh cheese selection with truffle honey competes with the plentiful chocolate offerings to finish.
