At both his Rye venue and here in Margate, Dev Biswal combines modern British and Indian flavours into an exciting fusion, amid decor that is more Anglo than Asian. The presentation of dishes is more akin to European food and there's bags of flavour and plenty of Kentish produce on show. A starter of crisped soft-shelled crab comes with smoked crab raita, samphire, and a crab and beetroot cake. Among mains, spice-rubbed sea bass is steamed in banana leaves and served with lentil kedgeree in coconut sauce, and there are hefty chocolate samosas in cardamom sauce with passionfruit and guava parfait to finish.
