Smack on the water's edge overlooking the yachtie action on The Solent, window seats in The George’s two dining venues – Isla's Restaurant and the brasserie-style Conservatory – are at a premium. The elegant 17th-century townhouse turned boutique hotel offers a lawned terrace running to the sea, and large abstract artworks against a neutral backdrop of taupe and beige within. A meal in the fine-dining Isla's Restaurant might open with lobster cappuccino with crab bhaji, saffron aïoli and coral tuile, followed by baked turbot with celeriac fondant, purée and remoulade, and sauce Véronique. Finish with praline soufflé with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce.
