With bags of boutique style and a dreamy location by the Sound of Sleat, Duisdale House has a lot going for it. The garden is a treat, especially if you're a fan of rhododendrons, and the conservatory restaurant boasts stylish looks. Expect modern cooking based on seasonal, regional ingredients, starting with wood pigeon partnered by Puy lentils, Jerusalem artichoke purée and a Stornoway Black Pudding bonbon. Breast of guinea fowl appears in an equally satisfying construction, with pearl barley risotto, celeriac purée and a rich, glossy red wine sauce. To finish, comforting custard and nutmeg tart is served with coffee and hazelnut ice cream.
