The Wellington Arms is a dining pub with a capital D. A good deal of what you eat will have found its way into the kitchen from the garden, and the rest won't have travelled very far. The old pub itself has scrubbed up very nicely indeed - crackling fires, tiled floor and wooden tables put it at the rustic-chic end of the spectrum. Pheasant, rabbit and pork terrine with spiced apple chutney and sourdough toast is a typically forthright starter, followed by roast fillet of Brixham cod with preserved lemon crust, sautéed samphire and Puy lentils. To finish, perhaps orange marmalade sponge with proper custard.
