New venture from a successful northern team

AA Inspector

A third crowd-funded venture from the team behind Heswall's Burnt Truffle and Chester's Sticky Walnut, this one is named after the trendiest cabbage variety in British catering. Set on the busy Didsbury high street, it features stripped-back minimalist decor, an open kitchen, and a menu of inviting contemporary brasserie food. A world of earthy satisfaction arrives in a starter of truffled celeriac risotto with roasted macadamias and crisply breaded calf's brain, followed perhaps by venison loin with laverbread-like kale ragù, pear tart and shallot sauce, or ray wing in maced brown butter. Finish with a defiantly unadorned slice of properly rich, wobbly,custard tart.
