An appealing package of bright and funky modern decor, a fun ambience, an array of regionally-brewed craft beers and an inventive take on contemporary pub grub makes this revamped 17th-century Cotswolds inn worth checking out. Grilled and cured salmon with wasabi, orange purée and edible flowers is a lively opener. Move on to wild boar with a black pudding croquette, artichoke, crackling and apple, or you could look to the grill for a rib-eye steak with the hearty accompaniments of cep and truffle butter, bone marrow and potato rösti.
