Gaelic for a journey , Taisteal is the younger but larger sibling to Field across town in Southside and it shares a similar farm-to-fork philosophy when it comes to local provenance. Like its sister restaurant, it has a relaxed style with stripped wood and vibrant animal- themed artwork. Solid technique and imagination in the kitchen means a meal might begin with sweetcorn pannacotta, chilli jam, ham hock croquette and pork scratchings before moving on to roast cod, crab-crusted potatoes and peas á la Française. For dessert, banana crème brûlée comes with peanut butter ice cream and hazelnut brownie.
