A hip and happening venue with contemporary artworks on the walls, exposed brickwork and displays of wine bottles wherever you look: it's dark, moody, and a lot of fun. The kitchen's Italian output includes an excellent range of antipasti plus the more modern pan-fried scallops with smoked paprika polenta. Pasta options include ravioli of the day, or go for gnocchi with pancetta, clams and sautéed samphire. Pan-fried monkfish cheeks are served with salt-cod baccalà, confit lemon and braised leeks, grilled steak arrives in red wine sauce, and vegetarians can tuck into lasagne made with pumpkin and gorgonzola. Finish with white and dark truffles served with a glass of Pedro Ximenez.
