Tucked away in Kemp Town village, chef-proprietor Jamie Everton-Jones is established on the local foodie scene. The dining room is a relaxed and unshouty space, and the culinary deal includes well-executed dishes using the bounty of the Sussex coast and South Downs. A starter of lobster cannelloni with Sussex Blue cheese, tarragon, lemon gel and apple sets the tone, before a main course starring free-range chicken - breast and ballotine with chorizo stuffing - with a truffled croquette, oyster mushrooms, spring greens and Rioja jus. Desserts brings chocolate and orange sponge with crunchy honeycomb, and the tang of mango bavarois and sorbet.
