Part of a mini chain of quirky boutique hotels, this little piggy overlooks sandy Studland Bay. Fruit, veg and herbs are plucked from the walled kitchen garden, a coop of chickens and quails supplies eggs, and fish and seafood is locally landed. A main course of South Coast hake with plump Dorset cockles, foraged Alexanders, sea beets and Hampshire salami shows the style, as does local pork belly, smoked in-house and matched with olives, tomatoes and spring onions. Bookending this, an opener of grilled cuttlefish with braised veal tongue, rocket, roasted garlic and lemon crème fraîche, and for pudding, hazelnut and cocoa meringue with pressed pears and caramel sauce.
