Fresh fish and shellfish at the foot of the Mourne mountains

Private dining
Wines by the glass
Wheelchair access

With a sister establishment in Belfast, the Dundrum branch of Mourne Seafood is in a refreshingly peaceful location. At the foot of the Mourne mountains, with a nature reserve close by, it's dedicated, of course, to fish and shellfish, much of which comes from the proprietors' own seafood beds. The daily-changing menu offers its wares in a broad range of styles, from scallops in linguine with wilted greens and chilli-garlic oil to start, and then temptations such as smoked haddock with a potato cake, creamed leeks and a soft-poached egg. If you're not of the fish persuasion, look to grilled chicken breast with asparagus and mushroom risotto.
