In an unquestionably charming setting, chef-proprietor James Cullinan's skilful French-influenced modern cooking might bring forth a rich and creamy chowder, followed by butter-roasted hake topped with gremolata, and matched with asparagus fricassée, mussels and scallion, and smoked haddock velouté. If you're moving on to meat for main, you might encounter roasted rack and mini shepherd's pie of superlative Burren lamb, served with baby peas, roast garlic and thyme jus, or Irish beef fillet with beer-braised onions, mushroom duxelles, French beans and a Burgundy wine reduction. Finish self-indulgently with a choc-fest trio of chocolate, orange and pistachio marquise, chocolate millefeuille and ice cream.
