Llandudno's prom is the place to be for splendid sunsets and sweeping views across the bay, and St George's Hotel sits centre stage. The place is a timeless slice of Victorian wedding-cake grandeur, with an irresistible terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant to enjoy the view all year. The kitchen turns out modern starters such as pan-roasted scallops with scallop 'dust', crispy ham and sweet potato purée, or belly of pork with an oriental glaze. Next up, loin of cod is matched with Welsh rarebit, and, to finish, a firm pannacotta comes with rum-infused compressed pineapple.
