La Brasserie offers commendable support to its superstar sibling the Simon Radley restaurant. With all the swagger of an authentique Parisian outfit, it has black-leather banquettes, shimmering brass and a giant hand-painted skylight, plus a menu that builds confidently on classic ideas. A starter combines seared yellowfin tuna with a croustillade basket of salad Niçoise elements, and you could then venture south for Ibérico pork cutlet with buttered butterbeans, chorizo and lemon and chilli croquetas, or salmon with an anise-scented stew of mussels, potatoes and fennel tops. Dessert could be a terrific Valrhona chocolate bar with millionaire shortbread and banana ice cream.
