Rebranded from its former incarnation as the Rockfish Grill, Mitch Tonks' seafood brasserie and fish market maintains a rigorous commitment to freshness and simplicity, using fish and shellfish mostly landed by the Brixham boats. The refurbished room sports racing-green buttoned banquettes, linen-clothed tables and piscine artwork, and friendly staff make the formula a winning one. The simple approach with top-class materials slapped onto a charcoal-burning Josper grill works wonders with scallops roasted with citrus and cucumber, then mains such as hake served with romesco sauce, John Dory with tomato and basil, or lemon sole with anchovy and rosemary. Finish with the likes of chocolate tart with honey and crème fraîche.
