The former headquarters of Ulster Bank is a grand building and these days the beneficiaries are those that rock up for lunch or dinner. The kitchen delivers a classical-meets-modern repertoire where tip-top regional produce is treated with respect. Portavogie lobster and scallops might provide the filling for first-course ravioli, paired with poached langoustine and shellfish bisque, while seared foie gras comes with fig marmalade, fresh almonds and brioche. Next up, perhaps seared wild venison loin with glazed chicory, roast swede and sour cherry marmalade, or roast cod fillet with white crab bonbon, buttered curly kale and salt-cod brandade. To finish, try Valrhona dark chocolate and peanut fondant with banana sorbet.
