Well-positioned free house with good reputation for food
At a glance
Built in 1861 as an estate rent office and stables, this lovely old free house is easily reached from both Malvern and Worcester. The current owners have created a reputation for good food and beers, such as local Hobsons Twisted Spire (named after Cleobury Mortimer's parish church) and Cornish-brewed Sharp’s Doom Bar. A typical meal might involve crab and coriander samosa with sweet chilli dipping sauce; and roast chicken breast wrapped in Prosciutto and served with heritage carrots, fine beans, new potatoes and a red wine and shallot sauce. Sandwiches are available from Monday to Saturday at lunchtime only, and there is an extensive range of wheat-free and gluten-free dishes.
